With over 34 years of government experience, Don has held several prominent positions at the IRS, including Director of Examination Headquarters for the Small Business and Self-Employed Division, Director of Compliance Planning and Analytics and acting Director of Field Operations for the Western Practice Area in the Large Business and International Division.

He is an accomplished former senior executive with an extensive institutional knowledge of IRS compliance operations. He has demonstrated success in directing and leading the agency’s highest compliance risk strategies including abusive transactions, cryptocurrency, and expertise in deploying advanced analytics for compliance operations. During his tenure at IRS, Don also had oversight responsibilities for administering IRS Whistleblower operations for midwestern field operations.

As Senior Technical Advisor for ZMF, he is advising clients on tax controversy matters, internal investigations, cryptocurrency, and whistleblower claims.
